About Us

Neuroblastoma is a common but overlooked cancer in kids. The statistics associated with the disease are shocking. Only 55% pf the children diagnosed with high risk disease survive. When survivors relapse there is no known cure. Supporters of these children dream of a cure for the disease. The money raised by the Lanyard Project goes to support neuroblastoma research through the Children’s Neuroblastoma Cancer Foundation.

What is a Lanyard? Lanyards are long necklaces with rings or clips on the end to hang ID badges on. School teachers, nuclear scientists, and hospital personnel are types of folks that sometimes wear lanyards as part of their jobs.

There's a more important story embedded here. Beaded lanyards help people by providing harnesses for their IDs. They also help sick kids by generating funds for pediatric cancer research.

Beyond these instrumental outcomes, there are some other benefits. When we bead, we share time, space, and conversation. Beading allows the friends and supporters of these sick kids to get together, share fellowship, and contribute their time and talent in a meaningful way. Wearing a Dream Lanyards might prompt someone to notice and gives the wearer a chance to spread the word. As a bonus, we learn that you don’t have to be rich, powerful, or even grown up to make a difference. The Lanyard Project has raised thousands of dollars towards finding a cure for neuroblastoma.
